Table of Contents
Walsall has seven fixtures, and seven opportunities, left to play this season. If they win every one of these, we will add another 21 points to our current 50 and finish the season with 71 points. Based on our current form and some of the upcoming opposition, there is no chance we will win all of the remaining matches. The display against Sutton made me even more convinced of this. I would be satisfied with 12 points, based on our current form.
If you continue reading, I am going through the remaining fixtures. I will put my opinion on our chances in each match. I try to be as realistic as possible and put into consideration how results in previous games could affect the outcome of the next.
These are the remaining opportunities
Rochdale (A) Friday, April 7
Position: 24
Points: 29
The Dale is currently in 24th place in the table and looks destined for relegation. Rochdale has 29 points and has to win eight points to catch up with Crawley, who is 22nd and just above the relegation zone. Rochdale is a team we have to beat, no discussion! I believe we will, even though our current form is abysmal, and they have picked up five points in their last five matches.
Prediction: Walsall win 2-0
3 points
Carlisle (H) Monday, April 10
Position: 4
Points: 66
Carlisle is fighting for automatic promotion or even league champions. This match will not be an easy task. Based on our current form, I have no hope we will get any points from this match. On the other hand, Carlisle only has one win in their last five. Maybe there is a chance after all?
Prediction: Carlisle win 2-1

Crewe (A) Saturday, April 15
Position: 17
Points: 45
It is vital to winning games against those teams below us in the table. Crewe is probably safe from relegation. They are currently 10 points ahead of Hartlepool in the 23rd position. But games vs Crewe are never easy. To get anything from this match, Walsall has to be up for the fight. A draw could be close to hand.
Prediction: Draw 2-2

Harrogate (A) Tuesday, April 18
Position: 20
Points: 39
Harrogate is a team below us in the table. As I said earlier, this is a must-win in my eyes. We can get something from this match, even though it is a Tuesday night away from home.
Prediction: Walsall win 2-1
3 points
Salford (H) Saturday, April 22
Position: 7
Points: 63
Salford is one of the teams I dislike the most in this league. I would do anything to win, and at home, I think we will, even though they are battling for a playoff position. Wouldn’t it be great if we could ruin their playoff hopes?
Hopefully, we can ride on the wave from a win at Harrogate and snatch a victory against Salford.
Prediction: Walsall win 3-1
3 points
Crawley (A) Saturday, April 29
Position: 22
Points: 37
The last away fixture this season. The weather will probably be great, and we are on the up again from wins against Harrogate and Salford. The feeling of optimism and a season soon finished.
The result of this game could become extremely interesting. It all depends on which table position Crawley has. They could already be relegated or just above the line as they are now.
Prediction Draw 2-2

Doncaster (H) Monday, May 8
Position: 12
Points: 51
It is time to end the season with a magical show against Doncaster. There is no need to conserve energy for upcoming matches. It is time to let everything out and give it all for the club badge one last time. One last chance for the team to show gratitude to their loyal supporters. Those who have turned up when the team haven during the season. I hope we finish the season in the same way we started it.
Prediction: Walsall win 4-1

Conclusion and final comments
I’m useless at predicting results. Take these predictions with a grain of salt.
If my prediction is correct, which I doubt, we will add another 14 points to our current 49, and the total will be 63 points.
Winning 14 points from our last seven matches is realistic, in my opinion. Building momentum and self-confidence from winning a few could snowball us into winning more points.
Not that this has happened in the previous 20 games, but I try to be positive.
