The struggle to get my thoughts down on “paper” is the main reason why I haven’t been that active on this blog the last couple of months. First of all, it is a big struggle to get your thoughts down in Swedish and then the task to translate it to English. Mostly I just start writing the text in English without thinking much about how to formulate my texts in Swedish. The grammar and punctuation is a big difference between these two languages.
The big struggle comes when I can’t get out what I want to say in Swedish. I’ve tried several times to try and write in Swedish and then translate it to English but mostly it ends in me deleting the text.
I know it is all about practising writing in a different language and accept that there might be typos and some mistakes with my grammar. I cheating a bit by using the app Grammarly which helped me tremendous (to use a Trump expression) with my texts.
In order to get the best out of the money I spend on to keep this blog running, I should really start to add more content. I do not get any revenue from visits or clicks but every visit to the website is a confidence boost that will keep my motivation level up.
In order to get readers I know I need good quality in my posts and that’s why my posts are few. Not many of the texts I start writing is meeting the quality I want to have on my posts. I’m not much for writing just for the cause of getting stuff out. When posting I want the content to be interesting.
There is a possibility that the upcoming posts will be more of a personal and life reflecting content that Walsall FC related. I hope you all accept that.
That is one of the reasons I have the “A blog about Walsall FC, football, sport and life in general” text in the header. I do not want to limit myself to just write about Walsall FC.
Writing personal posts is much harder though because you have to open up and dig deep inside you to which causes even more struggle to formulate a good enough text that I can be happy with and stand behind when it is out in the public.
One other thing about writing personal and open up that many will have an opinion and some could find it a way to make it into a joke when my intent might be very sincere and serious, especially when writing about sensitive topics like mental health.
