Rebuild burned bridges

What should the club do to rebuild the burned bridges that once more divided the club from the fans?

I think the club has to make the first step in this matter, and with the club, I mean Jeff Bonser first of all and maybe other board members should follow him over that bridge.

Sometimes when there is a situation to resolve, it feels like Bonser pushes out Gamble and Mole to sort out the public relations to the fans and he doesn’t seem to be bothered about the relationship with the fans which is very strange since we are an essential part of the club. Maybe it is right that Gamble and Mole resolve this, it may be in their role description at the club.
My opinion is that Bonser himself should be the one taking up a more public position and meet the fans face to face. Yes, he will probably get some harsh words the first couple of times, but if he continues to get down to the fans’ level and for example visit the pub before the match, follow on away games and watch the game from the stands with the fans. I’m not sure if every fan would appreciate being in the same building as Bonser, but if he starts to open up and starts talking to fans face to face, I think both Bonser and we fans would be able to respect each other differently.

The deep canyon that divides the club from the fans at the moment is only solved by first of all open up, rebuild the bridge, and then the club with Bonser in the lead making their way over that bridge and meet the fans on our side and then maybe they can start looking from our view or perspective.

If Bonser says, he is the clubs biggest fan he has to start showing that, and not hide away on matches. Come out and open up, be among the fans and watch the game together with the fans. Other board members should do the same, and we should let them come over to our court and start rebuilding the trust again. When the club has taken that step, we as fans have a huge responsibility to show mutual respect and not believe. If this would make more “stay away fans” come back and watch our home matches, it is a small price to pay for Bonser and his board room members.

At the moment there is a total rebuild of the squad, a completely new background staff and the youth academy will be led by new coaches for the first time in years. Jeff Bonser should take this opportunity to look over what he can do with his relationship with the fans.

I know many have a strong opinion about Jeff Bonser but would you be positive to him getting down to the pub and start talking to fans, follow to away matches and watch the game with the fans or would that thought put you off?
